Widespread in offshore waters, especially on Campbell Plateau (Ref. 9258). Found in Chathams Island (Ref. 45493). Recorded from bottom trawls off the east coast of South Island (Ref. 58461). Voucher specimen(s) held at the NMNZ. Taken as a bycatch of trawlers (Ref. 9258). Size too small for most permitted mesh sizes, specialist fishery unlikely to be developed (Ref. 9258). |
